Young People

The pressures placed on young people are immense; it could be school worries that they are struggling with, parent’s separating/divorcing or their friendships and relationships with others. It is really common for Young people to often struggle to voice how they are feeling or even to understand why they feel the way they do.

All too often, we hear young people who struggle with their sense of self, their own identity and where they fit into the world around them. We hear about the ‘mental health crisis’ in young people escalating. Counselling can be seen as a ‘sounding board’ and an independent place to be heard.

Counselling can help them to realize they are not alone, that their emotions are valid and to learn new ways of coping and expressing themselves. It can also help them understand how their reactions affect others, it can help them gain confidence in their own abilities and boost their self-esteem.
